My cousin Amy was diagnosed on December 7th, 2005 with Stage II Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer. She was also 12 weeks pregnant. She had a complete Mastectomy and an Axillary Dissection followed by chemo. The next few months were a battle not only against the cancer but to protect her unborn baby. She delivered a healthy baby boy in May 2006 and then her doctors attacked the cancer more aggressively. In July 2006, test results showed the cancer was gone! This joy was short lived as they soon found that the cancer moved to her spine. In March 2008, she had surgery to remove the tumor on her spine (the surgery was not covered by insurance). They spent the next month waiting in suspense to see if the surgery had cured her and the worst news possible came - the cancer was still there. She has been fighting this beast tooth and nail and she is TOUGH.

Wendy was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer in July, 2007. Inflammatory Breast Cancer is often misdiagnosed as a simple infection and is often mistreated with antibiotics. Luckily Wendy's doctor caught this immediately, which was still a stage 3 cancer. (There is no stage 1 or stage 2 with this type of Cancer) .Within 10 days she began aggressive chemotherapy. In February 2008 she underwent a double mastectomy and she is currently receiving weekly radiation treatments. In March she was given a clean bill of health. She has been a pillar of strength and endurance and an inspiration to her family and business associates as she has fought the fight and has overcome!
